ABOUT

HumpToy is a queer owned small business located in France - and, actually, the business is so small that it's one person - Kenza!

Kenza has a master's degree in analytical chemistry and started making toys for fun! They noticed that most suction cup toys on the market are highly realistic, and they wanted something more abstract, more creative, and something that looked, well, cool. They also wanted toys made of body-safe and vegan materials.  They decided to take matters into their own hands, and the result is HumpToys, a line of hand-poured, platinum-cured silicone toys that range from dildos to strokers to grinders shaped like keyboards. Why not!?

Kenza was super kind enough to send me two toys from their lineup: Rapture, and Joy! Let's get into these euphoric little guys!

Design

RAPTURE is HumpToys' first ever design! It features smooth ridges and gets gradually thicker towards the base, giving it a pyramidal shape with organic smooth edges. The base is flared with aesthetically pleasing nubs or crystals that give a place to showcase the pretty colors of the toy. The HumpToys website has a GREAT sizing guide showing all sorts of data, so I won't bore you with the details here, but man, this is a BIG BOY in size large, hehe.

JOY is a very textured toy. It features two knots and a flaired tip, curled all around with tight spiraliing ridges. I really love that this toy has two of my favorite features - knots and a blunt head - while having a totally abstract design! It really emphasizes the sensual interest that can be found in custom silicone toys. Just like Rapture, Joy has plenty of size diagrams available on the site, and just for your reference, this is a size large!

Quality and Performance

Something I love about buying from indie toymakers is the quality you get. I rest so easy knowing that my toys are body-safe, made by a responsible small business, and are pieces of art I'm proud to display in my home. HumpToys are no exception.

The silicone is a clean, competent pour, without visible bubbles, cracks, or tears. The colors live up to the design; for example, there's a density of mica glitter that makes this stormy gray pour on Rapture pop, and the blues of Joy are whimsically shiny.

Experience, or, How did it actually feel when I used it?

Okay, so.... what's it like?

Let's talk about Rapture first. This is, again, a HumpToys classic, and mine is in 0050 firmness, which is commonly called "medium soft." This is probably my favorire catch-all firmness, as it's strong enough to stand up on its own or to withstand a hard use session, yet soft enough to be comfortable in, uh, any hole.

The Rapture is really great for people who want to be consistently stretched. It eases in and eases open, which can be great for people looking for girth training.

I personally don't find this kind of shape very effective for myself as a bottom. I get a more rewarding experience out of toys with more variation in width throughout the shaft. BUT! But! If you are a bottom - or you know a bottom - who loves to feel the stretch, this could be perfect for you. Rapture is great for strapping on. It's a nice length to give you maneuverability while topping, and the relentless taper and wide ridges can drive your partner wild. As a top, I found strapping on the Rapture to be a total joy.

Speaking of Joy! Let's talk about Joy! So like I mentioned before, this is very much my speed for bottoming. I love some gentle size variation, and I love a blunt head, and Joy in 0030 "soft" firmness is just *kiss*. Especially after my hysterectomy earlier this year I've needed a gentle touch from my toys and I really like this one. Even in large, this is totally forgiving and has a really enjoyable squishiness that my insides currently appreciate. I would say that the soft firmness is too soft for really effective topping for me, but I love the Joy for solo play, especially with this wonderfully strong suction cup.

Materials and care

HumpToy makes their toys from platinum cure silicone, which is the gold standard of adult toys because it is versatile, it's body safe, it's waterproof, and it's easy to sterilize. You can use a toy cleaner if you want, but I always wash my silicone toys with soap and water! If you need to sterilize them you can use a dilute bleach solution, boil them, and even put them in the top rack of your dishwasher (without detergent!). Storage is simple: just dry and place in a cool, dry place like a drawer or cabinet. Silicone can be stored with other silicone, so a toy bin is also an option - just make sure there are no toys made of other materials like PVC touching your silicone toys!

Packaging

My HumpToys were packed in a perfectly discreet brown box. I didn't notice anything that would attract a second glance to my...package. lol.

Inside, the toys were thoughtfully packed in satin storage bags, and came with two tiny models as well as a bunch of stickers. There is only one tiny model now because my cat chewed up and ate the other one. He's fine, by the way, just a menace, and the surviving tiny is locked up safe with its kin in my storage cabinet.

Cost

HumpToys inventory ranged from 40-130 euro at the time of this writing, and custom toys range from about 70 to 130 euro, both of which are pretty standard prices in the custom silicone world. Your cost as a buyer may vary considerably depending on your geographic location, so make sure to account for shipping and customs fees when tallying up your shopping cart.

If you're looking for an ethically sourced, handmade toy with the bonus assurance of its being vegan, I totally think HumpToys are worth the price tag!
